If you look closely at the face of a child, you will notice a smoothness and softness not seen anywhere else. There are no visible pores, no scarring, no bumps, no dryness. But, something happens when that child starts to reach puberty. The skin becomes oily, pimples develop, redness occurs, and scarring starts to appear. The teenager years can be a devastating time for a child who develops acne.
Almost 100% of all teens will develop some level of acne, but some have a more severe case, and some don’t grow out of it until they are well into their 20’s. For these teens, their lives can become sad, alone, and embarrassing.
Every teen goes through a time of finding out who they are and where they fit into society. But with the addition of an acne-riddled face, their place is less secure. Once popular, they may be shunned by their friends. People who previously socialized with them, may no longer want to be seen with them. They may no longer be asked out on dates, or have the confidence to ask someone out.
Society tells all of us that acne is something to be ashamed of and feel guilty about. In effect, we are all told that it is our fault that we have acne. Either we are eating too much chocolate, too many French fries, not washing our faces enough, or we are simply unclean. None of this is true, of course – anyone, anytime can get acne and it isn’t because of anything we do or don’t do.
That being said, however, there are some all natural techniques that can help alleviate the effects of acne. Without using harsh chemicals or expensive medical treatments, just a few natural changes in your diet and lifestyle can both prevent and treat acne in as little as three days.
Acne is caused by too much oil settling in the pores and becoming inflamed, and often infected. Puberty itself can cause the oil production, but so can eating too much of a good thing – fried foods. Fried foods do not cause acne, but they can make it worse. So, a natural approach to eating would be beneficial in preventing acne from getting worse.
The oil in the pores sits there because it cannot be flushed out properly. Most people treat this by scrubbing or popping the pimples themselves, but this can create the spread of bacteria as well as scarring. By taking a holistic approach and cleaning the entire body through the simple addition of drinking more water, the pores will open and the oil will move more freely.
These are just some of the numerous all natural approaches to acne treatment that should be investigated before using chemicals or medications. A teenager with acne needs immediate help and a natural approach can provide just that.
